CALL FOR ENTRIES

We’re looking for snowboard/ski films, doesn’t have to be pro – but needs to be a crowd pleaser. Top films will be aired at this year’s Shred Fest Rockies at Wild Bill’s (crowd of 450 in attendance) in Banff on October 18, 2018!

  • Submissions Open: July 1, 2018
  • Submissions Deadline: Sep 1, 2018
  • Finalists Notified: Sep 15, 2018
  • High resolution files due by: Sep 20, 2018
  • Finalists Announced (publicly): October 1, 2018
  • Event Date: Oct 18, 2018

Local’s Choice
Presented by Monod Sports Banff + Arc’teryx Calgary
Local’s choice award winner will take home $600.

Judge’s Choice
Presented by Crowfoot Media
Judge’s choice award winner will take home $200.

 

MUSIC

RULES

  • Finished work must be no longer than 7 minutes, including credits.
  • Preferably, submitted films are not shared publicly until post event.
  • Films produced prior to the year of 2016 will not be eligible for competition.
  • Each filmmaker finalist will receive one ticket to the show.
  • Crowfoot Media reserves the right to show all entries post event.
  • All music licenses (including, without limitation, all synchronization, mechanical and master use licenses, as applicable) have been obtained and all payments have been made that are required for the public performance of the music incorporated in the film.


TECH.

  • For initial entry to Shred Fest, filmmakers are required to send a link of your film (include password if protected) to view.
  • If selected as a finalist, please send the following format: .mp4, 1920×1080 pixels.
  • Filmmakers may send final files through a file sharing site such as Dropbox.


FINALISTS

  • Final edits (for chosen finalists) must be submitted in by 5pm MST on Saturday, September 20, 2018.


GRANTS OF RIGHTS AND WAIVER

By entering Shred Fest film competition, the Entrant represents and warrants that:

  • All music licenses (including, without limitation, all synchronization, mechanical and master use licenses, as applicable) have been obtained and all payments have been made that are required for the public performance of the music incorporated in the film.
  • It owns all right, title and interest, including the copyright and all intellectual property rights, in and to the film being submitted to Shred Fest and has the right to distribute, exhibit and promote the film in or through all media formats now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, the Internet throughout the universe.
  • By entering Shred Fest Film Competition, the entrant acknowledges and agrees to all entry Rules and Terms.

 

10% of ticket sales will be donated to Avalanche Canada.
